How we selected them
Low or ankle-high? Low boots suit those who hike briskly and travel light – such as the popular LA SPORTIVA Boulder X. Ankle-high models provide ankle support when carrying a heavier rucksack or hiking over scree. Choose GORE-TEX (GTX) membrane if you hike in rain and morning dew. In summer, boots without the membrane are more breathable.
