The outer cover fabric, used in the Astro down range amongst others, is a smooth, strong, lightweight and quick drying nylon microfiber fabric. The dense weave makes it resistant to down, wind and water. Reinforcing yarns woven into the honeycomb structure increase tear resistance and provide stability to the very thin fabric.
- *D stands for denier. Describes the weight of the yarn. 600D corresponds to 600 grams per 9000 metres.
- * PES stands for polyester. PES fibres are very tear and abrasion resistant and absorb almost no moisture.
- * PA means polyamide. PA fibres are very durable and abrasion resistant. They are also characterized by high elasticity and low weight.
