The jacket's hybrid construction combines Airlite Windproof material with insulation on the inside and AFT Double Weave Pro. The very light, windproof and breathable Airlite Windproof material is insulated with Polartec Alpha on the inside in strategic areas of the jacket. Polartec Alpha is a specially developed material (for the record - originally developed for US Special Forces) for highly aerobic activities, where the hydrophobic fibres resist moisture and dry quickly. In addition, the fibres have a high loft and create a very soft and warm to the touch fur. Alpha provides what is known as active thermal insulation, where it retains heat very well and wicks moisture away quickly, which is why this insulation is used in products designed for more intense physical activities such as skitouring, cross-country skiing or fast climbs. Virtually unrestricted movement in the jacket is made possible by the perfect technical fit and the flexible windproof embedded panels of AFT Double Weave Pro material. The jacket's outer material is treated with a water-repellent PFC FREE eco-friendly finish that prevents the material from soaking in and wetting the insulation. The renowned YKK Vislon Slim zipper on the main zipper is a special bone zipper with narrower teeth, so it can almost be "folded over". This gives the jacket the advantage of greater and easier collapsibility without the risk of damaging the zip. The hood is adapted for use under a helmet, the main pockets above are easily accessible even when using a hip belt or seat belt.
