Ronhill is Britain's legendary brand of running textiles and accessories, founded by the great runner Dr Ron Hill in September 1970.The brand was born just five months after he became the first Briton to win the Boston Marathon in a record time of 2:10:30. His only goal: to develop and produce running gear that would keep him at the top of the running peloton.

Dr Ron has a PhD in Textile Chemistry from the University of Manchester and decided to use this education to develop new running equipment. He began testing the running products of the day and after winning the Commonwealth Games in 1970, he developed the 'side-split short' running shorts that became known as the Freedom Short and the Mesh Vest - both products that accompanied him to his greatest running victories on the road.
