With the PD-ED500, Shimano offers all riders on road or urban bikes the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of the SPD system familiar from MTBs on the road as well.

Thanks to the specially developed Light Action System, you can get on and off the pedals with significantly less effort. The significantly larger and wider contact area compared to pure MTB pedals ensures better pressure distribution, so you can tackle longer distances without problems.

The PD-ED500's aluminium pedal body can withstand the heaviest of loads and the chrome-molybdenum steel stem is unrivalled in terms of durability. As is typical of the Shimano brand, the bearings are sealed and very robust.
