The X-Light is a very light, well-balanced and durable ice axe for technical mountaineering. Standing at the end of a route through a glaciated couloir with the tips stuck in the ice, you contemplate ascending the final snow and ice climb. You advance and use your ice axe stuck up to your head in the snow to negotiate the edge, providing you with some foothold and roll onto the snow plateau. In the firn beyond, you use the shovel and the butt of the ice axe to build a station with an anchor and belay point for catching your partner. After that, you make a parallel ascent to the summit cross and enjoy a well-deserved rest. The X-Light ice axe differs from climbing ice axes by the angle of the belay, which in this version is better for a smaller slope angle - for a fast technical ascent / descent. The aluminium head allows the mounting of both a blade (included in the base) and a hammer (CAMP X-Light Hammer). The hole in the pommel and spike allows the use of a standard loop, and the hole in the spike is large enough to attach an axe lanyard (X-gyro Leash). The three-piece handle provides several variations of adjustment for the perfect setup for your chosen terrain. The tip of the X-Light is toothless, so no damage to the gloves when leaning in the field. The X-Light is the most versatile axe for classic technical mountaineering in all abilities.
