Since 2009, Smart has earned a leading position among belay devices with self-locking function. Intuitive control, lightning fast rope feed to the climber without jamming, easy and smooth lowering, self-lock with dynamic slip when catching a fall. These are the main advantages of Smart 2.0. Using the Smart 2.0 together with the Smart HMS carabiner when belaying significantly increases your safety.
Brilliantly simple design with no moving cams or joints. The ingenious cut-outs in the body of the belay along with the HMS carabiner form a self-locking mechanism. This makes the belayer pleasantly small and lightweight as well as reliable.
The whole set includes the Smarter accessory. The Smarter is designed as a superstructure for beginners or less experienced breakers. It does not allow the breaker to put his hand with the belay end of the rope over the breaker, because in this case the self-locking function of the Smarter 2.0 is significantly reduced.
Once the belayer has safely mastered the technique of feeding and retrieving the rope, it can be removed from the belayer again. Smarter does not restrict the use of the belay device in any way. The Smarter can only be used with the Smart 2.0 version.
- Excellent price/performance ratio
- intuitive operation
- low weight
- for ropes with a diameter of 8.7- 10.5 mm
Weight [g]: 200
Caution!!!
The belayer must always have control of the belay rope. When lowering, by pushing the lever upwards, the rope is released and the lowering is then carried out as for example with a bucket. The advantage is that the rope is always passing through the palm of our hand, so it is always under control.
