How to choose the right sizeThe Mammut Probe 240 Speed Lock is an avalanche probe designed for situations where every second counts. Thanks to the well-thought-out Speed Lock system, you can assemble it quickly and reliably even while wearing gloves, without wasting precious time during a rescue.
The probe is certified to UIAA 157, ensuring effectiveness, durability and ergonomic handling in the most demanding conditions. The shaped tip cuts efficiently through debris and snow, saving your energy while probing, while the clear scaling on both sides always gives you accurate depth information.

The Speed Lock tensioning system was specially designed to enable extremely fast and reliable assembly of the probe – when correctly tensioned, an audible signal confirms it, so you can be sure all segments are fully engaged even without visual checking, which is absolutely crucial in a rescue scenario. - Precise orientation and maximum stability while probing
The probe features a 360-degree visual depth guide and clear scaling on both sides, with the lower section visually highlighted for better orientation as you approach the buried victim; the stable, lightweight aluminium segments ensure that even with repeated use the probe retains its stiffness and accuracy.
