The Fenix HM60R is a high-performance rechargeable headlamp that delivers a light output of up to 1,300 lumens with a beam distance of 116 meters. The second reflector, with an output of up to 350 lumens, produces a very wide and smooth beam with a neutral white light tone.

The advantage of this color temperature is a more natural and high-contrast color rendering in the field. The control of both LEDs is independent, making the headlamp very easy to use (however, the beams cannot be combined). The headlamp also features a red light with an output of 5 lumens.

The package also includes a rechargeable 18650 Li-ion battery with a capacity of 2600 mAh, which charges directly in the headlamp via a USB-C connector. Furthermore, in the 130- and 350-lumen modes, the headlamp offers a special feature in the long-range reflector called "FREQUENCY SENSING", which detects movement in these modes and can automatically adjust the output relative to the selected value based on running speed (step frequency).

It is therefore suitable for night running, cross-country skiing, hiking, fishing, caving, and work applications. The all-metal construction ensures high durability, optimal cooling, and is fully waterproof to IP68 standard up to a depth of 2 meters underwater.

All flashlight parameters (luminous flux, battery runtime, water resistance, afterglow, and impact resistance) are measured in accordance with the ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009 standard.

Package contents: headlamp, Fenix 18650 2600 mAh battery, USB-C cable, head straps, and spare O-ring.

Warranty: 5 years on the headlamp, 2 years on the battery

  • Powerful Cree XP-G2 LED with neutral white light
  • Luminus SST-40 LED with daylight white light
  • Two additional Everlight 2835 red LEDs with a lifespan of 50,000 hours
  • Luminous flux and runtime are measured with the included Li-ion 18650 battery 2600
  • The long-range reflector produces a light cone with a beam distance of 116 meters
  • The wide-angle reflector shines up to a distance of 33 meters
  • The red light has a beam distance of 5 meters
  • Electronics with digital control, reverse battery protection, and overheating protection
  • Powered by a single rechargeable 18650 Li-ion battery with a capacity of 2600 mAh
  • Memory for the last selected power mode (only in the long-range reflector)
  • The headlamp can be rotated within the mount over a wide range to set the desired beam direction
  • Made of durable aluminum alloy with a highly scratch-resistant surface - Type III hard anodized
  • Waterproof to IP68 standard (tested underwater at a depth of 2 meters)
  • Impact-resistant to drops from a height of 2 meters
  • Hardened ultra-clear glass lens with anti-reflective coating

Usage
An insulating cap may be present on the battery inside the headlamp at the factory. Remove it from the battery before first use.
- When off, the headlamp turns on to the last-used high-beam mode by holding the button for 0.5 seconds.
- When off, the headlamp turns on to red light by quickly pressing the button twice.
- When the headlamp is on, hold the button for 0.5 seconds to turn it off.
- When the headlamp is on, hold the button for 1.2 seconds to switch between the high beam and wide beam. Both beams cannot be activated at the same time.
When the headlamp is on, short presses of the button cycle through the brightness modes in the order of 30 - 130 - 350 - 1300 lumens (when the high beam is on). The headlamp has a memory for the high beam and always turns on in the last set mode. With the wide reflector, it always starts in 5-lumen red light, and subsequent button presses cycle through the modes in the order of 70 - 350 lumens and a 5-lumen SOS signal.
Frequency Sensing - this feature automatically adjusts the output based on running speed in the 130- and 350-lumen modes on the long-range reflector. The headlamp’s standard output is set to 150 steps per minute. At lower speeds, the output gradually decreases to 70%, and at higher speeds, it increases to up to 150% of normal.
Battery Charge Indicator: A short press of the button (the headlamp must be off) activates the LED battery charge indicator in the button. A green light indicates that the battery is 85–100% charged, a flashing green light indicates 50–85%, a red light indicates 25–50%, and a flashing red light indicates less than 25%.
Locking the headlamp to prevent accidental activation: Loosen the headlamp’s battery cover by a quarter turn; this breaks the electrical contact and prevents the headlamp from turning on. The button can also be locked electronically—with the headlamp off, hold the button down for 3 seconds. After locking, the headlamp will flash red. To unlock, hold the button down for 3 seconds again.
Overheating Protection: If the headlamp’s temperature exceeds 55°C, it will automatically reduce output in gradual steps until the temperature stabilizes. Once the temperature drops below 55°C, the highest output modes can be used again.
Low Battery Warning: If the battery voltage drops below the set level, the headlamp automatically switches to lower power modes. If the headlamp is already in the lowest power mode and the battery is critically low, the indicator in the button will begin to flash red. However, the headlamp will continue to shine until the battery is completely discharged. Note: The low battery warning is calibrated only for the voltage of rechargeable Li-ion batteries.
Charging
Unscrew the waterproof nut on the side that covers the USB-C connector. Connect the USB-C charging cable to the headlamp and plug the other end into a computer’s USB port, a USB power adapter, or a car USB adapter. Alternatively, you can use any mobile phone charger with a USB-C connector. The side button will glow red during charging and turn green when fully charged. Charging a fully discharged battery takes approximately 3 hours. The Li-ion battery used does not suffer from memory effect, so the headlamp can be recharged at any time. After charging, tighten the waterproof nut again.
Warning
Do not disassemble sealed parts yourself, as this will void the warranty.
If using disposable CR123A batteries, do not attempt to recharge them in the headlamp.
Remove the batteries from the headlamp if you will not be using it for an extended period or if the batteries are already dead. Otherwise, some lower-quality batteries may damage the headlamp.
If the headlamp is flashing, does not switch to higher power modes, or does not turn on, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
- The batteries are nearly dead – recharge or replace them.
- The headlamp cap is loose – tighten it.
- The electrical contacts are dirty – clean them with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol.
