Expansion set for the new Black Diamond friends line, which was developed by Black Diamond ambassadors to their complete satisfaction. Their goal was to develop a friend that will be easy to place in the crack even in a difficult position.
As the trend is to climb increasingly difficult routes on your own, such a belay aid is an absolute necessity not only for top "trad" climbers. The Z4 comes in 5 different sizes.
The friend head always consists of two pairs of cams of different sizes. The offsets therefore allow a reliable foundation even in joints that change their width towards the depth.
- The RigidFlex rod remains firm in the hand, the friend's stem does not bend or twist when the cam rods are pulled. This allows the Friend to be placed in place with one precise movement.
- The larger sizes have a double twisted cord. This allows the Friend's stem to bend evenly.
- The head has a narrow profile. Friend can thus be inserted into shallower joints.
- The surface of the cams is sandblasted. This increases the friction of the segments against the rock surface. Friend thus sits more securely in position and is less prone to ringing out of the joint.
- The release wires of the individual cams have an independent floating fit. The camalot does not bend when under tension, but once positioned, allows movement of the stem, ensuring the head is permanently positioned in the joint.
