The Fenix BC28R Emerald is a powerful rechargeable bike light designed for demanding cyclists who need reliable lighting for nighttime riding in the terrain and on the road. With a light output of up to 2500 lumens and a range of up to 180 meters, it provides excellent visibility even in the darkest conditions.

1. Specially designed optics with cut-off light cone
   The headlight optics create a precisely shaped light cone that effectively reduces glare to oncoming drivers and pedestrians while directing all the light to the road ahead, resulting in a safe and comfortable ride at night.

Using the headlight on the bike
There may be an insulating cover on the battery inside the headlight from the factory. Before the first use, remove it from the battery. To unscrew the battery cover, use the enclosed plastic key (screwing with coins or sharp tools may cause scratches).
Emerald control (front light only):To turn the light on or off, hold the main switch for about 0.5 seconds. The light will turn on in the last set mode (except Turbo and blinking). When the light is on, press themain switch to increase the power and press thesecondary switch to decrease the power. To switch to the blinking mode, press the main switch twice quickly.
Standard Fenix control (front and rear light):In this mode, the light is turned on/off by holding the main switch for about 0.5 seconds. The power modes are cycled by pressing the main switch. To switch to the blinking mode, press the main switch twice quickly when the light is on. In this mode, you can also pair the front light with a compatible rear light (not included). To pair, first hold the rear light switch for about 5 seconds (it will start to flash alternately red and green). Then, press the secondary switch of the front light once, the rear light indicator will turn green. Press the rear light switch again to confirm the pairing. (After the initial pairing, the lights remember the connection for the next time). After pairing, you can switch the rear light modes by pressing the secondary switch of the front light.
Switch between Emerald control and standard Fenix control:Hold the main switch of the light for 5 seconds (the light will flash and turn off to confirm the change). The Emerald control is set from the factory.
Locking the light:When the light is off, press the main switch three times quickly (within 0.5 seconds). The light will flash twice to indicate that it is locked. Repeat the process to unlock the light. This will protect the light from accidental activation, e.g. in a backpack.
Battery charge status indication:After switching on or after a short press of the main switch when the light is off, the indicator LED will be active for 3 seconds. Green light indicates a charge of more than 85%, green blinking 50-85%, red light 25-50% and red blinking indicates a critically low battery (less than 25%).
Low battery warning:
If the battery voltage drops below the set level, the flashlight will reduce the brightness to a lower level. After reaching the lowest level, the indicator will start to blink red. In this case, we recommend recharging the battery in a timely manner.

Charging
Turn off the dust cover of the USB-C connector on the bottom of the flashlight and connect it to a computer, power bank, USB power adapter or car USB adapter using the enclosed USB cable.
The indicator LED will be red during charging, and will turn green when fully charged.
The standard charging time for the front light is approximately 3.5 hours (with a 5V/3A USB power source).
You can use the flashlight normally during charging, but the charging time will be longer.
After charging is complete and the power cable is removed, be sure to carefully seal the dust cover.

Warning
Do not disassemble the sealed parts of the flashlight yourself, as this will void the warranty.
Lock the flashlight or remove the battery to prevent accidental activation of the flashlight during storage or transportation.
We recommend using only high-quality Li-ion batteries with protection electronics of the 21700 type (original Fenix batteries).
If the flashlight is flashing or does not turn on, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
- The battery is dead – recharge or replace it.
- The electrical contacts inside the flashlight are dirty – clean them with a cotton swab soaked in alcohol.
