The XTC SLR 29 aluminum XC hardtail is a more affordable alternative to the XTC Advanced 29 carbon models. It's designed to give you a great balance of high efficiency and excellent handling, the right combination for performance and cross-country racing.

The XTC SLR frame is the lightest aluminum MTB frame we've ever made, thanks to the premium ALUXX SLR alloy and an advanced lightweighting process - ALUXX SLR tubes are 20% thinner (and therefore lighter) than ALUXX SL tubes. By combining cutting-edge materials and state-of-the-art manufacturing processes, we are able to produce frames that are extremely lightweight, yet highly rigid and strong.

Aluminum ALUXX SLR frame For the production of ALUXX SLR ultralight frames we use mainly high quality aluminum alloy 6011 series. The combination of superior material, state-of-the-art aluminium processing technology and an advanced thickening process makes ALUXX SLR tubes 20% thinner (and therefore lighter) than ALUXX SL tubes. ALUXX SLR frames provide the best strength-to-weight ratio of any Giant aluminium frame ever.

The rims come with tubeless tape and valves from the factory, so all you have to do is apply sealant and your wheels are fully ready for tubeless.
Overdrive The oversize front fork post technology is designed to increase the stiffness of the front of the frameset and steering for precise bike handling. It includes oversize headset bearings (lower 1 1/4" and upper 1 1/8" on road bikes and lower 1 1/2" and upper 1 1/8" on MTB bikes) and a tapered fork post for optimal steering stiffness.

The ALUXX SLR aluminium frame is designed and engineered to have a stiffness-to-weight ratio unrivalled in its class, resulting in high pedalling efficiency and precise bike handling at all times. The frame's race-specific geometry offers the ideal balance of stability and handling on almost any XC terrain.

The Giant Crest 34 RRL air fork provides 100mm of travel and features handlebar lockout. For better handling and less risk of punctures, the Giant XCT 29 wheels are tubeless-ready right from the factory, just apply a sealant. For greater confidence on descents and technical passages, the higher of the two models is equipped with a telescopic seatpost; the telescopic seatpost can of course be retrofitted to the lower model.
