TREK is headquartered in Waterloo, Wisconsin. The family-owned business was founded by Richard Burke in 1976, starting out in a small steel bicycle factory with just five employees. Within a few short years, the company caught on to bicycle trends and continued to grow. In the early 1990s, it began producing bicycles in a then-new material - Carbone. Today, TREK sets the trends in bicycle development and is also considered a leader in the processing of Carbone.
