KATADYN Vario Filtr - Water filter

KATADYN Vario from the Backcountry series is synonymous with innovation, combining maximum efficiency (with a double-acting pump) with the simplest handling. Filtration with Vario is three-level - consisting of a cleanable ceramic pre-filter adjustable according to the degree of turbidity of the water, a high-efficiency fibreglass filter and an activated carbon column to improve the taste of the water.

When 2 litres of water per minute is required, it is filtered through a fibreglass membrane and activated carbon. If the water is a little more turbid, a ceramic pre-filter is installed to extend the life of the fibreglass cartridge. Vario is compatible with most hydration bottles (wide-mouth, e.g. Nalgene type) and bags (thanks to the universal clip) on the market.

The filter is designed to filter clear to slightly cloudy water. For filtration of more turbid water, one of the Endurance series filters should be used.

2. Eliminates bacteria, protozoa, cysts, algae, spores, sediments, reduces the presence of chemicals to some extent, improves the taste of water and reduces odor.
