The Vulpine S is the fastest racing semi-slick gravel tire that WTB produces. A smooth centerline reduces rolling resistance, while the tire's round profile features short, closely spaced lugs that provide predictable cornering traction on hard terrain. The tire has been amply tested in the harsh conditions of the 8-day Transcordilleras gravel bikepacking race in Colombia or the grueling 200-mile Unbound Gravel race in Kansas.
WTB Tire Protection - SG2
In addition to its light weight, the SG2 tire protection provides excellent puncture and puncture protection. These tires have a high 120 TPI - or threads per inch - value, which reflects the density of fibers in the tire carcass. This new protective layer is lightweight and contains an ultra-thin nylon liner that covers the entire surface of the tire from bead to bead. So you can hit any surface without worrying about punctures.
How much more durable are the new tyres with SG2? Lab tests show that the addition of the SG2 protection layer provides 33% better sidewall protection and 17% better tread protection than standard 60 TPI tires without SG2. Gravel rides are becoming more frequent and longer. Riders won't shy away from challenging terrain. That's why WTB has come up with durable tires that will hold up on any surface.
