The Style 36 shoe, referencing the history of VANS, was the first shoe with a side stripe, created in 1977. Although the Vans side stripe has since become an unmistakable - and instantly recognisable - hallmark of the Vans brand, back then it was just a random doodle drawn by founder Paul Van Doren. It even had a different name: "jazz stripe."
In homage to the style that launched the icon, the Color Block Style 36 is made from classic canvas and suede uppers with tonal color-blocking. This low, lace-up shoe also includes vintage styling, a reinforced toe, supportive padded collars and a signature rubber waffle outsole.
