Usage
The flashlight may come with an insulating cap on the battery from the factory. Before first use, remove it from the battery.
To turn on, press the tactical switch at the end of the flashlight; for immediate activation, simply press it. By pressing the side button near the head of the flashlight, you can cycle through the steady-on modes at any time during operation. To switch to strobe mode, hold the side button for about 0.5 seconds. Pressing it again will activate SOS. Holding the side button again will return you to the steady lighting modes. The number of modes you can switch between depends on your selected mode preset; for example, the strobe can be completely deactivated (see below).
Setting the lighting mode presets - The SET function offers a choice of three lighting mode presets, which are listed in the table below.
1. Loosen the nut under the flashlight head to reveal the hidden SET switch.
2. With the light on, press the SET switch to cycle through: Setting 1 - Tactical Mode (Turbo mode only) → Setting 2 - Utility Mode (3 modes) → Setting 3 - Outdoor Activities (5 modes). Setting 3 is selected by default when the flashlight is first turned on.
3. After selecting the desired preset, the corresponding indicator next to the SET button will light up green for 3 seconds to confirm the selection. This indicator also shows the current number of available modes for that Setting.
Note:
Users can independently enable or disable the strobe function. By default, it is enabled in all presets.
The number of modes for each lighting preset is listed excluding Strobe and SOS.
nd Strobe Mode Activation and Deactivation - With the light on, hold the hidden SET switch for 1.2 seconds to activate/deactivate Strobe mode in all mode presets. The flashlight will flash twice to confirm the selection.
Memory for the last power mode setting - The flashlight remembers the last power mode used within the active preset. The next time it is turned on, it will activate in this mode (does not apply to Strobe and SOS).
Battery Replacement - Unscrew the tail cap and insert the battery with the positive terminal facing the reflector. Then fully tighten the tail cap again.
Charging
1. Unscrew the protective cap under the flashlight head to reveal the charging port, and plug the USB-C charging cable into the charging port. Once charging is complete, tighten the cap again.
2. During charging, the indicator in the side button glows red; when fully charged, it turns green. While charging, you can turn the flashlight on and off by holding down the side switch. The tail switch does not function during charging.
3. The typical charging time for a fully discharged ARB-L18-4000 battery is approximately 3 hours when using a 5 V/3 A USB power source.
Battery Charge Status Indication - Each time the flashlight is turned on, the indicator LED in the side button lights up for three seconds. If the indicator LED is green, the battery is charged to more than 85%. A green flash indicates 50–85% capacity. If it is red, the battery is charged to 25–50%. A red flash indicates that less than 25% of the battery capacity remains. Note: Works only with Fenix 18650 batteries.
Intelligent Overheating Protection - If the flashlight’s temperature exceeds 60 °C, the output will automatically decrease. Once the temperature drops below 60 °C, the output will gradually increase again.
Low Battery Warning - If the voltage drops below the set level, the flashlight will dim to a lower brightness level. Once the lowest output is reached, the battery status indicator will begin to flash red to remind you to recharge or replace the battery.
Warning
Do not disassemble the sealed parts in the flashlight head yourself, as this will void the warranty.
Keep the flashlight out of the reach of children!
Do not shine the flashlight directly into your own or anyone else’s eyes!
Loosen the tail cap by half a turn or remove the batteries to prevent accidental activation during storage or transport.
Use only genuine, protected 18650 Li-ion rechargeable batteries or 3V CR123A batteries to prevent damage to the flashlight.
If the protective rubber O-rings appear damaged after prolonged use, replace them. The rings should also be lubricated to prevent rubber erosion. By following these guidelines, the flashlight will be properly protected against water.
If the flashlight is flashing, does not switch to higher modes, or does not turn on, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
- The batteries are nearly depleted – recharge the battery or replace it.
- The contacts inside the flashlight are dirty – clean them with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol.
- The head, body, or rear of the flashlight is loose – apply lubricant to the O-rings and tighten both the head and the rear of the flashlight securely.
