At Rab, we focused on careful material selection and managed to reduce the weight of this 40-litre backpack to under 900 grams, without sacrificing its robust carry system and surprising toughness.
A key role is played by Spectra® Ripstop fabric, resistant not only to tearing but also to UV radiation, which is crucial when moving at high altitudes.
The TRI-FLEX™ back system is complemented by shaped hip padding and a supportive hip belt, which together ensure efficient weight distribution across the whole body. The roll-top closure also allows you to flexibly adjust the pack volume to suit current needs.
Spectra® fibres, combined with Cordura, create an extremely durable fabric, up to 15 times stronger than steel at the same weight. The TRI-FLEX™ system is light and supportive, fits close to the back and guarantees complete freedom of movement, even when carrying a heavier load.

The RAB story began in 1981 in the attic of a small terraced house in Sheffield, where Rab Carrington made the first sleeping bag to bear his name. Rab's experience from his years in the mountains was evident in his designs, which he hand-stitched and devised with his own genius eye, and were soon in demand from both friends and the growing local mountaineering community.
But it didn't end there. Soon the word got out and the Sheffield loft became a factory floor, producing sleeping bags and jackets for customers far and wide. Now, decades later, these honest and durable models can be found all over the world; wherever adventurers venture out to meet the elements.
