At Rab, we managed to reduce the weight of this 40-litre backpack to under 900 grams without sacrificing its robust carry system and durability, which is genuinely surprising at such a low weight.
At its core is highly durable Spectra® Ripstop fabric, which resists not only tearing but also UV radiation – essential when moving at high altitudes.
The ergonomic TRI-FLEX™ back system, complemented by moulded hip padding and a supportive hip belt, effectively distributes the load across the whole body for maximum carrying comfort. Thanks to the practical roll-top closure, the pack volume can also be easily adjusted to suit your current load.
Spectra® fibres, combined with Cordura, create an extremely strong fabric that is up to 15x stronger than steel at the same weight. The TRI-FLEX™ system is lightweight yet provides excellent support, fits close to the back and allows complete freedom of movement, even when carrying a heavy load.

The RAB story began in 1981 in the attic of a small terraced house in Sheffield, where Rab Carrington made the first sleeping bag to bear his name. Rab's experience from his years in the mountains was evident in his designs, which he hand-stitched and devised with his own genius eye, and were soon in demand from both friends and the growing local mountaineering community.
But it didn't end there. Soon the word got out and the Sheffield loft became a factory floor, producing sleeping bags and jackets for customers far and wide. Now, decades later, these honest and durable models can be found all over the world; wherever adventurers venture out to meet the elements.
