Using the Fenix LD36R torch
From the factory, there may be an insulating cover on the battery inside the torch. Remove it from the battery before first use.
On/off and switching output and colour modes - To switch the light on or off, hold the side button for about 0.5 seconds, provided a lighting mode is selected (W for white light or C for coloured). If the rotary selector is in the central locked position, turn it to the symbol of the desired lighting mode (W or C) to switch the torch on. You can switch white light (W) output modes at any time during operation with short presses of the button. Holding the button for 1.2 seconds activates strobe; press the button again to switch it off and return to the previous white-light mode. In coloured light mode (C), short presses cycle through colours: red - orange - pink - blue - purple - green. Holding the button activates smooth colour change - release the button once the desired shade is reached. A subsequent short press switches back to the originally selected colour from the 6 presets.
Last-mode memory - The torch always switches on in the last selected mode, except for strobe and smooth colour change.
Lock/unlock - To prevent accidental activation, e.g. in luggage, quickly press the button twice (the torch must be off); the torch will flash and is locked. Unlock by quickly double-pressing the button again. You can also lock the torch with the rotary selector by moving it to the central position. Both locks can be combined by locking first with the button and then with the rotary selector. Accidental activation can also be prevented by loosening the torch head.
Battery replacement - Unscrew the torch head and insert the battery with the positive pole towards the head. Then fully tighten the torch head again.
Charging - Lift the dust cover and connect the USB-C charging cable to the torch charging port. After charging is complete, seal the dust cover again. Typical charging time for the included ARB-L21-6000 battery is 3.5 hours with a 5 V/2.5 A USB power source. During charging, the indicator lights red. Once the battery is fully charged, the indicator turns green. During charging, the torch can be used in any mode except strobe and smooth colour change; depending on the battery charge level, not all modes may be available and the overall charging time will be extended.
Battery charge level indication - When the torch is off, activate the battery level indication for three seconds with a short press of the button. Green indicates sufficient charge (100% - 85%), flashing green (85% - 50%), steady red (50% - 25%) and flashing red a critically low battery (25% - 1%). If the battery is depleted, the torch will gradually and automatically switch to lower output modes; in the lowest mode, the battery indicator flashes red to alert that the battery needs to be recharged or replaced. Works only with original batteries.
Intelligent overheat protection - During prolonged use of the torch at high output modes, a large amount of heat accumulates. When the torch reaches a temperature of 60 °C or higher, it automatically reduces output by a few lumens to lower the temperature. When the temperature drops below 60 °C, the output gradually increases again.
Low battery warning - If the battery voltage drops below 3.0 V, the torch automatically switches to a lower mode until it reaches the lowest output mode. After reaching the lowest output, the battery status icon on the OLED display begins to flash. In this case, recharge the torch as soon as possible or replace the battery with a charged one.
Warning
Do not disassemble the sealed parts in the torch head yourself; doing so will void the warranty.
Use only the above high-drain rechargeable 21700 Li-ion batteries.
If the protective rubber rings appear damaged after prolonged use, replace them. The rings also need to be lubricated to prevent rubber erosion. By following these rules, the torch will be properly protected against water.
If the torch does not switch to higher output modes, flashes or does not light up, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
- The battery is almost depleted - recharge it.
- The contacts inside the torch are dirty – clean them with a cotton swab soaked in alcohol.
- The rear part of the torch is loose – tighten it.
