CAMP Matik - poloautomatické jistítko

Matik is a modern semi-automatic belay device with Anti-panic system and dynamic cam. Matik is used for sport climbing and works with dynamic single ropes in diameters 8,6 - 10,2mm. The belayer has fixed sidewalls, the rope is set in the same way as a classic bucket. The dynamic swivel cam moves depending on the load. If the load increases, the cam tightens the rope and prevents it from slipping.

When a fall is caught, the cam retracts but allows the rope to slip dynamically - i.e. it does not immediately lock the rope in place, but allows about 30cm of rope to pass through the gradual retraction. This significantly saves the rope during multiple falls to the same spot and also reduces the impact force of the climber's fall.

The Anti-panic system in the Matik belay is used to safely lower the climber or rappel alone in a single strand. The whole system is controlled by a lever on the left side of the belay. The lever acts on a rotating cam which regulates the slip of the rope during lowering. The anti-panic system is the moment when the force acting on the cam is too great - a quick jerk of the rope, a fall,... - at this moment the lever snaps and stops acting on the cam. The cam retracts and strangles the rope. The anti-panic can then be reactivated by moving the lever to the upper position and back again.

Rope feeding is facilitated by a protrusion for the right index finger on the moving part of the cam near the belay eye. Simply open the cam with your index finger to quickly feed a longer piece of loaded rope. In case of an accidental fall into the cam, the belayer has no chance to hold the cam loose with one finger, the cam immediately retracts when the rope is tensioned and prevents it from slipping.

The hot-formed aluminium body and the internal critical parts made of stainless steel form the most natural path for the rope, thus also saving it significantly.
