But we strive to make our products better and better, whatever the insulation. And that's why we've created the innovative Hill jacket with the old familiar natural feather insulation.
It doesn't matter if you wear it to town to shop, to the woods with the dog, or to climb peaks, all that matters is that it makes you feel great in any conditions.
The top layer - Toray 20D Nylon Recycled RipStop DWR - is a tightly woven, yet very lightweight and breathable nylon fabric with a Durable Water Repellent (DWR) treatment. It's the tightly woven fibers that stop even very strong winds, yet allow your body to breathe freely. The inner layer then consists of 20D recycled nylon. The fact that the fabrics are made from recycled materials certainly adds value.
- TheRipStop treatment ensures that the jacket won't continue to pile up in the event of a tear, but the pilling will be stopped by one of the regularly placed thicker fibres.
- DWR is a topcoat treatment on the material that increases its resistance to external influences such as moisture or dust.
- There is a drawcord at the hem to prevent uncomfortable pilling, with elastics placed in the pockets

Down
One of the best natural insulators is down. It is duck down feathers that we fill Hill jackets with, with a density of 650 cuin. The down is mixed with small feathers in a 90/10 ratio - this is because the small feathers are flexible and help keep the material fluffy (called loft). The feathers used meet RDS certification and are properly cleaned, so there is none of the smell that mothers associate with duck feathers. In addition, it has a so-called Teflon treatment, increasing its performance in humid conditions and contributing to durability.
