Using the Fenix HP35R Headlamp
The headlamp is switched on and off with the rotary switch on the right side. In the first position the headlamp is off, turning it to the second position switches it to the main reflector mode, turning it to the third position switches it to the wide reflector mode and turning it to the fourth position switches it to the combination of both reflectors. The power modes in each position are cycled by pressing the button on the side of the rotary switch.
The red light on the battery case is activated by holding the button on the battery case for approx. 0.5 s. Individual presses are then used to switch between flash (5 lumens) and steady light (20 lumens).
Memory for last set power mode - the headlamp has a memory and will always switch on in the last set power mode of the selected reflector except for the highest power modes of the main and wide reflectors, instead it will switch on in the second highest mode of that reflector.
The length of the cable connecting the headlamp to the battery case can be increased using the extension cable included in the package.
Battery status indication - pressing the button on the battery case activates the battery capacity indicator (four lit LEDs 80-100%, three LEDs 60-80%, two LEDs 40-60%, one LED 20-40%, one flashing LED indicates less than 20% remaining battery capacity).
Charging - Unsnap the rubber cap of the USB-C connector on the battery case and plug it into a computer, mains USB adapter or car USB adapter using the included USB-C cable. Alternatively, any mobile phone charger with a USB-C connector can be used for charging. The indicator LEDs on the battery case flash during charging, and are permanently lit when fully charged. Charging of a fully discharged battery takes approx. 2 hours when using a USB power supply of at least 27 W. If a weaker power supply is used, the charging time will be extended.
Activate the USB output (power bank function) - connect the device you want to charge. Activation of the USB output is indicated by flashing LEDs on the case.
Intelligent overheat protection - if the temperature of the headlamp rises above 55°C, it will automatically start to reduce power until its temperature stabilizes. Once the temperature drops below 55°C, the power will automatically increase again.
Intelligent Power Reduction - The headlamp has a built-in protection circuit. When the spotlight approaches the illuminated object (less than 60 mm) for more than 1 s, it will automatically reduce the power to low mode to prevent damage to the object from strong light and glare from reflected light. When the reflector is away from the illuminated object, the headlamp automatically resumes the previously used power level. Turning the Intelligent Proximity Sensor on/off - Press the side button on the headlamp when it is off for 6 seconds. The headlamp will indicate the feature is on with two blinks in low mode. Turning the feature off is indicated by the headlamp flashing eight times in low mode.
Caution
Do not disassemble sealed parts yourself, this will violate the warranty.
If the headlamp flashes, does not switch to higher power modes, or does not light up, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
- The battery is dead - charge it.
- Make sure the connector on the cable between the headlamp and the battery case is firmly connected.
