To use the headlamp, remove the insulating cap from the battery before first use. To turn it on and off, hold the appropriate button for about half a second – the right button controls the reflector with cooler white light, the left button controls the reflector with neutral light, and both can be turned on at the same time in turbo or low mode. Double-pressing any button when the headlamp is off activates the red light, and its modes and the reflector modes can be switched by short presses. The rear red light/flashing light can be turned on by holding down the button on the battery case. The control buttons can be locked by holding down both buttons simultaneously when the headlamp is off; unlocking is done in the same way. The headlamp remembers the last selected power mode for each reflector. The battery is replaced by unscrewing the battery compartment cover and inserting it according to polarity. It is charged via a USB-C connector with a typical charging time of around 3.5 hours. The charge status is indicated by an LED indicator on the case, which displays the capacity in steps from 100% to less than 20%, when the last LED flashes. The headlamp is equipped with intelligent overheating protection, which reduces power above 60°C, as well as discharge protection, which automatically switches to lower modes and flashes regularly when the minimum is reached. The headband is tightened or loosened by turning the wheel, and when fully loosened, the direction of rotation is reversed.

Safety rules must be followed when using the headlamp. Do not disassemble sealed parts, as this will void the warranty. It is recommended to use original Fenix ARB-L18 series batteries. It is advisable to remove the battery during long-term storage or when it is completely discharged to prevent leakage and damage to the device. When transporting, it is necessary to lock the headlamp or remove the battery to prevent accidental switching on. Always ensure correct polarity when inserting the battery. If the headlamp flashes, cannot be switched to a higher power setting, or does not turn on, the cause is usually a dead battery or locked buttons, and it is therefore necessary to recharge or unlock it.
