Usage
The flashlight may come with an insulation capon the battery inside the unit. Before first use, remove it from the battery.
Turning on/off and switching modes - When the headlamp is unlocked and off, the white light turns on by holding the switch for 0.5 seconds; the red light turns on by quickly pressing the switch twice. The brightness modes of the lit light can then be switched by briefly pressing the switch. The light turns off again by holding the switch for 0.5 seconds or by locking it with the slide switch.
Switching between spot and flood modes and locking - By sliding the upper mode switch, you can cycle through Lock ⇋ High Beam ⇋ Low Beam. When the headlamp is locked, sliding the mode switch to the high beam or low beam position will simultaneously turn it on.
Memory for the last power mode setting - The headlamp has a memory and turns on in the last power mode setting for the respective reflector, with the exception of the highest high beam mode (it always turns on in high mode) and red light modes.
Battery Replacement - Unscrew the headlamp’s battery cover and insert the battery according to the marked polarity. Then tighten the cover completely again.
Charging
Unscrew the dust cap, plug the USB-C charging cable into the headlamp’s charging port, and connect the other end to a USB port on a computer, a USB power adapter, or a car USB adapter. Once charging is complete, screw the dust cap back on. The indicator lights up red during charging. It turns green when fully charged. The typical charging time is 2.5 hours with a 5 V/2 A USB power source for a completely discharged headlamp. The headlamp can be used while charging, but this will extend the charging time, and the available power modes depend on the current battery charge level. Fenix 18650 batteries can be charged.
Battery Charge Level Indicator - Each time the headlamp is turned on, or when the button is pressed while the headlamp is off, the indicator LED activates for three seconds. If the indicator LED is green, the battery is charged to more than 85%. A green flash indicates 50-85% capacity. If it glows red, the battery is charged to 20–50%. A red flashing light indicates that less than 20% of the battery capacity remains. Works only with Fenix 18650 rechargeable batteries.
Intelligent Overheating Protection - Prolonged use of the headlamp in high-output modes generates a significant amount of heat. When the headlamp reaches a temperature of 55 °C or higher, it automatically reduces output by a few lumens to lower the temperature. When the temperature drops below 55 °C, the output gradually increases again.
Low Battery Warning - If the battery voltage drops below a set level, the headlamp will dim to a lower brightness level. Once the lowest output is reached, the battery status indicator will begin flashing red to remind you to recharge or replace the battery. Works only with Fenix 18650 rechargeable batteries.
Warning
Do not disassemble sealed parts yourself; doing so will void the warranty.
If using disposable CR123A batteries, do not attempt to recharge them in the headlamp.
Remove the batteries from the headlamp if you will not be using it for an extended period or if the batteries are already dead. Otherwise, some lower-quality batteries may damage the headlamp.
If the headlamp is flashing, does not switch to higher power modes, or does not turn on, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
- The batteries are nearly dead – recharge or replace them.
- The headlamp cap is loose – tighten it.
- The electrical contacts are dirty – clean them with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol.
