Tatami GYM 20Tatami is designed to be used as a sports surface to protect the musculoskeletal system, especially the legs during a sharp impact on the mat or during a fall in combat sports. Other very popular uses include as a play surface for children, an exercise mat for yoga, etc. Tatami is a square-shaped board made of polyethylene foam.
It is equipped with a special locking system on all sides, which allows the individual boards to be folded into a solid surface used for exercise. To use the tatami, a flat and solid surface free of dirt is essential.
For safety reasons, a safety zone is defined within the rules of each sport discipline, usually starting with a border of red boards. The basic training area consists of different coloured boards (blue, green, anthracite).
