FENIX BC30 V2.0 - Rechargeable Cycle Light

  • Tip: we also offer the flashlight in a cost-effective kit with 3500 mAh rechargeable Li-Ion batteries and USB cable.

The second generation of the extremely powerful Fenix BC30 V2.0 bike light delivers up to 2200 lumens (ANSI). A pair of rechargeable 18650 Li-ion batteries can be used for power, (18650s without a protruding plus pole in the flashlight have insufficient contact) or four disposable CR123A batteries. The light source is two modern Luminus SST-40 LEDs.

The flashlight uses the proven "Dual Distance Beam System" light routing technology. The main cone of light is created by specially designed optics and reaches up to 187 metres, while a secondary wide beam cone completes the optical member, which is shaped at the top so that light directed upwards refracts down to the ground.

This creates a cone that continuously illuminates the entire area in front of the bicycle - even in areas that conventional bicycle lights do not cover. Compared to the previous generation, the bike light is equipped with a wireless remote control that can be used to change light modes or activate Burst mode.

The bracket design allows for quick mounting and removal of the light on the handlebars without tools, and the bracket also allows for quick removal of the light so it can be used as a high-powered handheld light. The holder can be used on all handlebar diameters from 22 to 35 millimetres.

There are a total of six digitally controlled power modes, including a warning flash, and low battery warning. The Fenix BC30 V2.0 Cyclo Flashlight will provide you with quality lighting for night training, regular commutes and 24-hour races.

All flashlight parameters (lumen output, battery life, waterproofing and range) are measured in accordance with ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009.

Package Contents: flashlight, handlebar mount with spacers (thin and thick), remote control, CR1632 battery (for remote switch), replacement seal ring. Batteries for the flashlight are not included.

    Warranty: 5 years

Using the Fenix BC30 V2.0 Bike Light
To turn on or off, hold the button on the flashlight for approximately 0.5 seconds. The flashlight will always turn on in the lowest mode, you can switch the other power levels at any time during operation by pressing the button. Press the button twice quickly to switch to the flashing mode.
When the flashlight is switched on, the modes can also be switched with the remote wireless controller, or it can be switched to standby mode for up to 10 minutes. Burst mode is activated by pressing the button with the flash symbol, the other steady light modes are switched by a second smaller button. The flashlight can be switched to standby mode by holding the smaller button for 0.5 seconds. In standby mode the flashlight does not light up and only the green button flashes. From standby it can be switched on again by holding the smaller button on the remote switch, in this case it switches on to the last set mode. In standby mode, it will last without action for 10 minutes, then it will turn off completely.
Before using the wireless remote switch for the first time, it must be paired with the flashlight: Hold the control button on the flashlight for 5 s. The button will then flash alternately green and red and the flashlight will turn off. Then press any button on the remote control and the flashlight will light up again to indicate successful pairing. The distance between the flashlight and the remote control during pairing should be no more than 1.5 meters. This process only needs to be carried out once, the remote control and the flashlight are then permanently paired.
Battery indication - The indicator LEDs in the button light up during flashlight operation. If the indicator LED is green the batteries are charged to more than 80%, orange light means 40-80% capacity. If the light is red, the batteries are 10-40% charged. Red flashing indicates less than 10% battery capacity remaining. If the button is flashing red, the flashlight will automatically switch the power to lower modes to ensure the longest battery life. In this case, we recommend replacing the batteries with charged ones as soon as possible to avoid turning off the protective electronics built into the batteries and thus turning off the light. The indication can be switched on even when the flashlight is switched off, just press the control button and then the indication LED will light up for three seconds.
Note: the low battery indicator is adapted to work correctly with 18650 batteries, when using disposable CR123A cells it may not signal correctly.
Changing the batteries in the flashlight
Release the battery case by turning the locking tab to the left. Pull out the battery case.
Insert the batteries according to the marked polarity.
Slide the battery case back into the flashlight. Secure the case by turning the lock to the right.
Replacing the batteries in the remote control
Using a coin (1, 2, 5 cents fit), open the back cover of the remote switch by turning it counterclockwise.
Replace the CR1632 battery. Make sure the polarity is correct.
Close and secure the back cover with the coin by turning it clockwise.
The battery in the remote will last approximately 360 hours of use.
    Caution
Do not disassemble the sealed parts of the flashlight yourself, this will void the warranty.
If the power button is red and cannot be switched to high power modes, then the batteries are dead and need to be replaced.
If the flashlight flashes or does not light up, it may be due to one of the following reasons
Batteries are dead - replace them.
Contacts on the connectors are dirty. Clean them with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol.
