OUTDOOR10
The Fenix HP16R rechargeable headlamp has a total output of up to 1700 lumens and two light cones, with a long-range reflector with a high-end LED Luminus SST-40 produces a well-focused beam of light with a range of up to 260 metres and the second reflector with powerful LED Cree XP-G3 S4 has a very wide and smooth light path up to 48 metres.
The lumen output of the main beam reflector is up to 1300 lumens, the wide cone reflector offers a maximum output of 400 lumens and neutral light tint. The control of the two LEDs is independent of each other, the light from both reflectors can be freely combined to achieve a short-term lumen output of up to 1700 lumens. The main reflector offers four light levels and the wide reflector three. In addition, the headlamp is equipped with a red LED with a power of 5 lumens, with which it is possible to send an SOS signal in case of emergency.
The power supply is provided by a single Li-pol battery ARB-LP3000 with a capacity of 3000 mAh, which is included in the package and is charged via a modern USB-C connector. This battery is housed in a case on the back of the head, so the headlamp is well balanced on the head. If required, it can be replaced with four regular AA pencil batteries with which, however, the maximum output is limited to 800 lumens and cannot be charged in the headlamp.
The headlamp is made of hardened aluminum and durable plastics, its construction is fully dustproof and waterproof to IP66 standard and also impact resistant to drops from 2 meters. It is also equipped with extended battery life. For prolonged use of each light mode, the headlamp gradually reduces power in small increments to achieve longer light duration.
The HP16R headlamp replaces the older HP15 version, and its high power and endurance, and the option of using pencil batteries, make it suitable for anyone who wants a strong and reliable partner in extreme conditions in the dark. It will serve great on the job e.g. for rescue workers and other professions, but also for athletes, climbers, hikers and outdoor enthusiasts.
All headlamp parameters (luminous flux, battery life, waterproofness, range and shock resistance) are measured in accordance with ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009.
Package Included: headlamp, USB-C charging cable, ARB-LP3000 battery, four Fenix ALD-02 attachments for attaching the headlamp to a helmet, transport bag, spare o-rings, cable clips.

Using the HP16R Headlamp
There may be an insulating cap on the battery pack at the factory. Remove it from the battery pack before first use.
The high beam is switched on by holding the right button (approx. 0.5s), the wide beam or red light is switched on by holding the left button (0.5s). Pressing the right button cycles the main beam mode, pressing the left button cycles the wide beam and red light modes in the following order: white 5, 150, 400 lumens, red 5 lumens, SOS signal. Both reflectors are switched off by holding the corresponding button and after switching off the headlamp remembers the last set mode. Both headlamps can be switched on at the same time.
Battery charge indication
A short press of any button (headlamp must be switched off) will activate the LED battery charge indicator between the buttons. If the green light is on, it means the battery is 85-100% charged, if the green light is flashing, it means the battery is 50-85% charged. If the red light comes on, the battery is charged to 25-50% and if it starts flashing, the battery level is critical and the headlamp is charged to less than 25%.
Control buttons
The buttons can be locked to prevent spontaneous switching on e.g. When transporting in luggage - in the off state press both buttons and hold them for min 3 seconds, then the headlamp will flash red to indicate locking. To unlock, hold both buttons again for three seconds.
Overheat protection
If the headlamp temperature exceeds 65°C it will automatically start to reduce power in gradual steps until the temperature stabilises. Once the temperature drops below 65°C the power output will increase again gradually.
Discharged Battery Warning
When the voltage drops below a certain threshold it will automatically switch to a lower power mode, if the battery status indicator starts flashing while the light is on then the battery is almost dead.
Charging
Unclip the USB-C connector cap on the battery case and plug in the included charging cable, plug the other end of the cable into a computer, power bank or USB mains adapter or USB car adapter (not included). The LED on the battery case will glow red while charging. When fully charged, it will remain lit in green. Charging a fully discharged battery takes approximately 3 hours.
Discharged Battery Warning
The headlamp gradually reduces the number of available power modes automatically. When the batteries are fully discharged, only the single lowest mode will be available.
Warning:
Do not disassemble the sealed parts yourself, this will void the warranty.
Use only the Fenix ARB-LP3000 rechargeable battery or high quality pencil batteries to avoid damage to the flashlight, for example due to battery leakage.
If using disposable pencil batteries, remove them from the headlamp if you will not be using it for an extended period of time or if the batteries are dead. If the headlamp flashes, does not switch to higher power modes or does not light up, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
1) The batteries are almost dead - replace them or recharge the battery.
2) The contacts in the battery holder are dirty - clean them with a cotton ball dipped in alcohol.
