Michelin (Manufacture Française des Pneumatiques Michelin, Compagnie Générale des Établissements Michelin) is a French company that manufactures tyres, but is also known for publishing car maps and guides to the best restaurants in Europe. An integral part of the company's logo and mascot is the Michelin Man, called Bibendum. The company was founded on 28 May 1889 by the brothers André and Édouard Michelin in Brussels.
