The Avera women's helmet was inspired by mountain panoramas and stylish arches carved into fresh powder. The lightweight In-Mold shell features an In Form clamping system that keeps the helmet perfectly on your head. As well as a 6cm girth reduction, you have height adjustment to achieve the perfect pairing with goggles or hair pulled back into a ponytail. When you're skiing all day, you can alternate between feeling cold and feeling hot very quickly. That's why you'll appreciate the easy Thermostat Control ventilation control - you won't even have to take off your gloves. The helmet is equipped with very soft inner linings. Select colors are available with MIPS technology, which offers increased protection of the brain from rotational forces.

MIPS IS A MOVEMENT
ADVANCEMENT IN SKI HELMET DEVELOPMENT
All Giro helmets are designed to absorb as much energy as possible on impact and meet the current European standard: EN 1077. The new MIPS technology aims to eliminate the rotational forces that act on the head in the event of a fall and subsequent impact on the slope. On impact at any angle, the MIPS system allows the EPS shell of the helmet to rotate independently around the head. Although this movement is only on the order of a few millimetres, we believe that MIPS technology significantly reduces the amount of rotational force that could otherwise be transmitted to the brain.
What is MIPS (Multidirectional Impact Protection System) and how does it work?
MIPS is a slippery insert between the EPS shell (helmet body) and the inner liners. In the event of an angled impact, the EPS shell of the helmet rolls a few millimeters over the MIPS layer, protecting the head and brain from a violent rotational jerk.
