    MIPS (Multi-Directional Impact Protection System) provides increased protection against rotational forces on the head. MIPS is a slippery liner between the EPS shell (helmet body) and the inner liners. In the event of an angled impact (for example, if you catch your head on a branch), the EPS shell of the helmet will roll a few millimeters over the MIPS layer, protecting your head and brain from a violent rotational jerk.
