FENIX BC21R - Rechargeable cyclo lamp

The powerful Fenix BC21R Rechargeable Bike Flashlight delivers up to 880 lumens (ANSI) with a range of up to 125 meters. It is powered by a 2300 mAh 18650 li-ion battery that charges via a micro USB connector directly in the flashlight. The light source is a modern Cree XM-L2 T6 diode with a warmer shade of light (neutral white). The advantage of this shade of light is a more natural and contrasting colour rendering in the field.

The flashlight uses the proven "Dual Distance Beam System" light routing technology. The main cone of light is created by a specially designed optic and shines into the distance, while a secondary wide beam cone completes the optical member, which is shaped at the top so that light directed upwards refracts down to the ground. This creates a cone that continuously illuminates the entire area in front of the bicycle - even in areas not covered by conventional bicycle lights.

For added safety, there are additional red LEDs on the sides of the light that shine sideways. The bracket design allows for quick mounting and removal of the light on the handlebars without tools, and the bracket also allows for quick removal of the flashlight so it can be used as a high-powered handheld light. The holder can be used on all handlebar diameters from 20 to 35 millimeters.

The Fenix BC21R offers a total of five digitally controlled power modes with up to 12 hours of runtime, and there's also a flashing mode. Fenix bike flashlights provide you with quality lighting for night training, regular commuting and endurance racing.

All flashlight parameters (lumen output, battery life, waterproofing and range) are measured in accordance with ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009.

Bike light use
From the factory, there may be a black insulating cap inside the flashlight on the battery. Remove it from the battery pack before first use. To turn on or off, hold the button on the flashlight down for approximately 0.5 seconds. The power modes can be switched at any time during operation by briefly pressing the button (cycling through in the order low - medium - high - turbo - flashing). Battery capacity indication (only valid when powered by 18650 li-ion battery) - with the torch switched off, press the button once briefly, then the side red LED will light up for five seconds. A steady light indicates a battery charge of more than 60%, a slow blink indicates a charge of approx. 20 - 60%, a fast blink indicates an almost dead battery (less than 20%). Low battery warning - if the battery capacity drops below approx. 20%, the flashlight will automatically switch to lower power modes to ensure the longest possible battery life (the flashlight cannot be switched to higher modes afterwards). If the battery is critically low, the button will flash red. In this case, we recommend charging the flashlight as soon as possible to avoid turning off the protective electronics built into the batteries and thus turning off the light.

Charging
Unclip the rubber cap of the micro USB connector on the bottom of the flashlight and plug it into a computer, mains USB adapter or car USB adapter using the included USB cable. Alternatively, any mobile phone charger with a micro USB connector can be used for charging. The button glows red while charging, and glows green when fully charged. Charging time is approx. 4 hours. The li-ion battery used does not suffer from memory effect, so the flashlight can be recharged at any time. During charging, the flashlight can be used in an emergency, only two low modes of 100 and 200 lumens will be available. After charging and removing the power cord, be sure to seal the micro USB connector cap.

Warning
Do not disassemble the sealed parts in the flashlight head yourself, it will violate the warranty. If using disposable CR123A batteries, do not attempt to charge them in the flashlight. If the protective rubber rings appear damaged after prolonged use, replace them. The rings should also be lubricated to prevent erosion of the rubber. By following these rules, the flashlight will be properly protected against water. If the flashlight flashes, does not switch to higher modes, or does not light up, it may be due to one of the following reasons: the batteries are almost dead - replace them or charge the battery. The contacts inside the flashlight are dirty - clean them with a cotton ball dipped in alcohol.
