    The photochromic lenses are self-darkening, meaning they adjust themselves to the surrounding weather within a pre-defined range of solar intensity. Thanks to NTS technology, the tinting is activated not by the ambient temperature but by the intensity of UV radiation. Julbo divides self-tinting lenses into five different types depending on the activity and purpose for which the lens is intended.

    They are more durable compared to polycarbonate lenses - virtually unbreakable thanks to NXT technology, lighter, the material is resistant to chemicals such as gasoline or acetone, and they are photochromic for life. That's because not only is there an added photochromic layer on the glass, as with conventional self-tinting glasses, but the technology is already part of the glass itself.
