Rubberized sides and beam ensure a perfect fit and stability. In addition, the goggles are equipped with the CLICK A.I.R (Air Intake Regulator) quick release ventilation system to minimize fogging.

The lenses are excellent for slightly cloudy days, reducing the transitions between orange and blue , which renders and enhances green and yellow hues. In addition, they reduce glare from reflective surfaces and have an ideal visible light transmission (VLT), making them ideal for changing light conditions.

Advanced CAPTIVATE technology further enhances visual acuity and colour perception. This is because the human eye is unable to distinguish the entire colour spectrum. Individual colours blend together and these colour gradients (especially between blue, green and red) cause problems with visual acuity. CAPTIVATE lenses can separate these transitions and thus increase contrast and sharpness of detail.

EIGHT-LAYER LENSES

For maximum eye protection and to maintain perfect visual acuity and clarity, Wiley X lenses are composed of a total of eight protective layers.

- FILTER 8™ - Reflections of sunlight from the water surface, as well as from other shiny surfaces (such as snow or glass), significantly increase eye fatigue, reduce visual acuity and distort vision. That's why one of the layers of Wiley X lenses is a polarizing filter - Filter 8™. This prevents reflected rays whose waves travel in the horizontal plane from reaching the eyes. These are the ones that cause unpleasant glare. At the same time, the FILTER 8™ layer prevents the passage of all harmful UV radiation, which can otherwise cause pathological changes in the retina of the eye.

- SLICK™ - Both outer layers of Wiley X lenses are made of a hydrophobic compound. This means they actively repel water and ice. Thanks to special nanotechnology, the molecules of the hydrophobic layer are non-polar and do not bind with water molecules. The water molecules are therefore forced to bond with each other. Instead of wet coating and stains on the glasses, this results in larger water droplets that quickly run down the surface of the lenses and do not distort visual acuity. Hydrophobic surfaces are also anti-static, or repel dust and other contaminants. This makes the lenses very easy to clean with the soft microfiber cloth that comes with each pair of Wiley X glasses.

- T-SHELL™ - Two extra hardened layers in the form of a flexible film protect the lenses from scratching, surface cracks or cracking. This increases the Wiley X's protection, durability and visual acuity.

- SELENITE™ - The two main protective layers of Wiley X lenses are made of polycarbonates, whose structure is made up of carbon and phenol atoms. These give the lenses up to ten times the impact resistance of conventional glass lenses. But they also have the advantage of being lightweight. The reliability and safety of Wiley X lenses is tested and certified by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). Despite their extreme strength, these lenses do not distort images or reduce optical accuracy at all angles.

- VIOLET 4™ - As light passes through the lens of the glasses, some light reflects back from the front and back of the lens causing annoying flashes that impair vision. The Violet 4™ anti-reflective coating is designed to reduce or completely cancel out these glare effects. The layer can also eliminate the brightness of light that tires and strains the eyes. This feature will be appreciated by drivers, for example, who use Wiley X glasses to get rid of glare from the sun or headlights of oncoming vehicles.

FACIAL CAVITY™ SEAL (GASKET)

The disadvantage of conventional glasses is that they often fail to reliably protect the eyes from dust, wind and radiation coming from the sides, under the glasses. The Wiley X features a patented sealing system, the so-called gasket. This consists of a removable FACIAL CAVITYTM SEALS frame that allows the Wiley X to fit perfectly to the face. The special foam material prevents the passage of the finest microparticles and sunlight, protecting the eyes from dry eye syndrome, while its ventilation capabilities prevent the lenses from fogging up. Your vision will remain flawlessly clear even in the most extreme conditions.

SMART EDGE LENS TECHNOLOGY - Distortion-free vision

With conventional optical lenses, light refraction often results in distortion of the relative size of the object, loss of clarity or decentralisation of the image. Wiley X lenses meet the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) standards for optical accuracy, and rigorous testing has shown that Wiley X lenses do not distort optical clarity even with distant objects, do not increase the relative size of the perceived image, and preserve the spatial arrangement of objects, or do not decentralize objects in the field of view, as is often the case with conventional lenses.

ELASTIC STRAP - Strip instead of feet

Select Wiley X models are equipped with an additional elastic band, called a strap, that wraps around the entire head. The strap does not attach to the sides (feet of the glasses), but "snaps" directly onto the frames of the glasses instead of the removable sides. Thanks to this, the glasses will not fall off the face even in the most extreme situations. This will be especially appreciated by athletes who require the glasses to stay on their eyes really tightly, but also, for example, by shooters for whom the sides of the glasses might get in the way under protective shooting headphones.

Certified to EN.166S, the goggles must withstand the impact of a 6 mm diameter steel ball weighing 0.86 g shot at 162 km/h. The unbroken lens shall remain firmly seated in the frame of the goggle and the frame shall remain intact.

ANSI HIGH VELOCITY IMPACT TEST - Bullet Resistance Test

Goggles certified to the ANSI HIGH VELOCITY IMPACT standard shall be able to withstand the impact of a 6.35 mm diameter steel ball fired at 164.6 km/h. The unbroken lens must remain firmly seated in the frame of the goggle and the frame must remain intact.
