For mountain expeditions where every gram counts, the Ionosphere 5 is ultralight and packable, yet packed with the necessary technology to keep you warm in challenging conditions. Reflective TILT film inside the insulation reduces radiant heat loss, while Stratus™ R insulation traps air to reduce heat loss through convection, so you can recharge for tomorrow even when the temperature drops. The tapered mummy shape is weight-saving, so pack size is minimal. Oversized outer chambers ensure you stay centered on the mattress while you sleep, and the soft-finish fabric has a graduated cling print that reduces sleeping bag slippage during the night. Inflating and deflating is quick and easy thanks to the low-profile two-way valve and pump bag. Made with 100% recycled insulation, recycled fabric and a DWR carbon-free coating, the Ionosphere 5 sleeping bag offers an excellent warmth-to-weight ratio that won't hold you back.

The RAB story began in 1981 in the attic of a small terraced house in Sheffield, where Rab Carrington made the first sleeping bag to bear his name. Rab's experience from his years in the mountains was evident in his designs, which he hand-stitched and devised with his own genius eye, and were soon in demand from both friends and the growing local mountaineering community.
But it didn't end there. Soon the word got out and the Sheffield loft became a factory floor, producing sleeping bags and jackets for customers far and wide. Now, decades later, these honest and durable models can be found all over the world; wherever adventurers venture out to meet the elements. From Himalayan peaks to cool, breezy evenings around a campfire.
