  • The new Insurgent Spherical integral helmet provides the high level of protection required by top Enduro World Series (EWS) or Red Bull Rampage riders. In developing this helmet, Giro's design and engineering team focused not only on protection, but also on the best possible ventilation (50% better than the previous Disciple Mips model), and they didn't forget about wicking sweat away from the forehead.

Two sets of cheek pads with different thicknesses allow you to adjust the helmet to fit perfectly. They are secured by a snap-on system that allows easy and head- and neck-friendly removal in the event of an accident. Weighing 1040 grams in the M/L size, the Insurgent is 200 grams lighter than the previous Disciple Mips model, even though the new model is better equipped.

The action camera is mounted on the underside of the visor, which will be stable even when riding with the camera mounted thanks to the center mount (there is a fixed position to mount the visor).

    1. Patented Flex Gasket system - this is a softer material along the bottom edge of the helmet, which is designed to reduce the force of impact the helmet may have on the collarbone in certain situations.
    2. Adjustable visor - fastened with three screws (sides and middle) and no tools are needed to change its position. The screws are plastic, so that for safety reasons, in the event of an impact, they will easily break off and the label will fly off (the remnants of the screws can be removed with an Allen key).

    Spherical Technology Powered by Mips
An important feature of the Insurgent helmet is the advanced Spherical Technology Powered by Mips protection system. This unique system, developed by Giro in collaboration with Mips, works on the principle of a joint - the helmet consists of two parts (hemispheres) that are connected by elastomers and slide over each other like a joint. This allows the outer layer to rotate around the inner layer in the event of an impact, reducing the forces that would otherwise act directly on the brain. This design completely replaces the traditional plastic Mips liner used by Mips helmets without Spherical technology.
    Progressive Layering
Progressive Layering technology relies on two different hardnesses for the outer and inner layers. While the outer layer made of EPS foam is harder and thus ready to absorb impacts at high speeds, the inner layer made of EPP foam is softer and has rebound properties to absorb impacts at lower speeds as much as possible.

  • Science and soul. They might seem like two disparate entities - but through the 30-year history of the Giro brand, they have been brought together in equal measure. Giro benefits from world-class resources. Based in Santa Cruz, California, it's an action sports paradise - incredible waves for surfers, endless singles for bikers and coastline-lined roads for roadies.

At Giro's headquarters, you'll find over 50 different helmet testers, several 3D printers, a custom wind tunnel, and even a Therminator test head equipped with thermal sensors to test helmet venting and hole placement. Giro has a lot of products in many categories, from helmets to gloves to trunks. But each one was born out of a desire to enhance your riding experience.
