GORE-TEX
GORE-TEX® membrane has been used in hiking boots for over 20 years.With a billion microscopic pores per square centimetre, this membrane is the best guarantee for waterproof yet highly breathable footwear. But MERRELL wants even more. Only the best is good enough for him! That's why he and Gore-Tex started working closely together to develop different types of membranes designed specifically for MERRELL's individual lines. The result is revolutionary. The membrane is now perfectly adapted to the type of footwear. A lightweight shoe designed for sporting activities is not unduly burdened by the membrane, and is maximally breathable and flexible. In a leather boot for alpine hiking, you will find the membrane thicker and more durable.

Vibram
We proudly equip almost all of our sports and hiking boots with Vibram soles. And there are two reasons for this. First, no company makes better samples that are stable in all conditions. The tread lugs are not under the foot arch, so the foot can move naturally. Second, Vibram has created two great rubber compounds - the Trek and the TC5+. These provide excellent traction on both wet and dry surfaces, even in the most extreme temperatures.
