Fenix CL23 is a handy portable lantern that you can use to illuminate a room, tent, campground or workbench. The high-brightness SMD diodes hidden under the cylindrical diffuser provide a lumen output of up to 300 lumens (ANSI) with a neutral shade of white light.

The advantage of this shade of light is a more natural and contrasting color rendition in the outdoors. Power is provided by three AA pencil batteries. Two or even just one battery can be used in an emergency, but higher modes will not be available. The lantern offers a total of eight lighting modes, including bottom and side lighting, and there is also a red light that does not interfere with the eyes' adaptation to darkness.

Side lighting and bottom lighting are very practical energy-saving features. They are particularly useful in situations where circular omnidirectional lighting is not needed. The lantern is also equipped with an extension function. When used for extended periods in turbo (300 lumens) and high (150 lumens) modes, the lantern gradually reduces power in small increments to achieve a longer light duration.

Thanks to its durable and shockproof construction with IP66 protection, the lantern can be safely used even in inclement weather (heavy rain). The top of the lantern is equipped with a hanging eye and a thread for tripod mounting. The compact size and weight of 140 grams make the lantern especially suitable for hiking.

All lantern parameters (lumen output, battery life, waterproof, range and shockproof) are measured in accordance with ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009.

Using the Fenix CL23 Camping Flashlight
To turn on or off, hold the side button down for 0.5 seconds. The white light modes are switched by pressing the button, the red light is activated by pressing the button twice quickly. With a single press, you can change between red light and flashing light.
The battery in the lantern is changed from the top. Turn the hinge eye according to the arrows and remove the battery compartment cover. After replacing the batteries, place the cover back on and turn the hinged eye again according to the arrows.
If the batteries are low to the point that the lantern will not switch to 150 lumen mode, it is advisable to replace the batteries. For disposable batteries, this will prevent the batteries from draining.

Caution
Do not disassemble the sealed parts yourself, this will violate the warranty.
Remove the batteries from the lantern if you will not be using it for an extended period of time or if the batteries are already dead. This will prevent the batteries from draining and damaging the unit.
If the lantern is flickering, not switching to higher power modes, or not lighting up, it could be due to one of the following reasons:
Batteries are almost dead - replace them.
Electrical contacts are dirty - clean them with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol.
