FENIX HP25R - Rechargeable headlamp

  • The Fenix HP25R rechargeable headlamp features a unique dual reflector design. One reflector produces a well-focused light beam with a range of up to 187 meters, and the second reflector has a very wide and smooth light trail. In addition, the headlamp is equipped with a red LED.

The light output of the main reflector is up to 1000 lumens, the wide cone reflector offers a maximum output of 350 lumens and a neutral light tint. The control of the two LEDs is independent of each other. Both the wide and high beam reflector offer four illumination levels and the red LED offers two modes (steady light and flashing).

One 18650 Li-ion battery with a capacity of 2600 mAh is used for power supply, which is included in the package and is charged via the micro-USB connector directly in the headlamp. In case of emergency, the headlamp can be powered by two disposable CR123A batteries. The headlamp is powered by a digitally regulated constant current to guarantee a constant light output even when the battery voltage is reduced (when the batteries are slowly discharging), its construction is fully dustproof and waterproof according to IP66 standard.

The selectable shape of the light cone makes this model one of the best and most versatile rechargeable headlamps on the market. The headlamp is suitable for a variety of sports activities (hiking, camping, running, skiing...), underground, fishing and other uses. Guaranteed to serve you well in any situation! All parameters of the headlamp (luminous flux, battery life, waterproofness, range and shock resistance) are measured in accordance with ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009.

    • The light source in the high beam reflector is a Cree XM-L2 U2 LED
    • The light source in the wide beam reflector is a Cree XP-G2 R5 with a warmer shade of light
    • Available 5 mm red LED
    • Remote reflector produces a light cone with a range of over 187 meters

    Using the headlamp
Fenix HP25R There may be a black insulating cap inside the battery case on the battery pack from the factory. Remove it from the battery pack before first use. The main reflector is switched on by holding the right button (approx. 0.5s), the wide reflector is switched on by holding the left button (0.5s). The light functions are switched by briefly pressing the corresponding button. After switching off, the headlamp remembers the last set mode. The red LED is switched on by briefly pressing the left button when the headlamp is switched off. Further presses of the button switches it to flashing mode and then off. Indication of the battery charge status: press the right button briefly. If only the reflector for the wide cone flashes, the battery capacity is above 70%. If the wide cone LED alternates with the red LED, the battery capacity is between 30% and 70%. If only the red LED is flashing, there is less than 30% capacity remaining. Low battery warning: if the red LED starts flashing while the light is on, the battery is low. When the headlamp is in the basic non-folded position, the buttons are protected by plastic tabs against accidental switching (for example, when transported in luggage). Intelligent overheating protection - if the temperature of the lamp rises above 65°C, it will automatically start to reduce the power in gradual steps of 5% every 30 seconds until its temperature stabilizes. Once the temperature of the lamp drops below 65°C, the power will automatically increase again to the original level. Thus, operation at the highest power mode is not limited by time, but only by temperature.
    Charging
Unclip the micro-USB connector cap and plug in the cable. During charging, the status LED on the battery case is red, and when charging is complete, it turns green. It takes approximately 3 hours to charge a fully discharged battery.
    Caution
Do not disassemble the sealed parts yourself, it will violate the warranty. Use only high quality Li-ion 18650 batteries, if using disposable CR123A batteries, do not attempt to charge them in the headlamp. If the headlamp blinks, does not switch to higher power modes or does not light up, it may be due to one of the following reasons: The battery is dead - charge it or replace it. The contacts in the battery case are dirty - clean them with a cotton ball dipped in alcohol. Warranty Warranty Five years for the headlamp and two years for the battery.

High performance, durability and many other advantages are also praised by marathoner René Kujan. In his review on Sport.cz, he even calls the Fenix HP25R headlamp a "bulldozer for the dark."
