FENIX HL23 - headlamp

The compact Fenix HM23 LED headlamp offers up to 240 lumens (ANSI) and a range of 53 meters. A single AA pencil battery is used for power, with which it achieves a battery life of up to 100 hours in the lowest mode (over 4 days). The light source is a high-end Cree LED with a warmer shade of light (neutral white).

The advantage of this shade of light is a more natural and contrasting color rendering in nature. Thanks to the precision design of the aluminium alloy body and the durable silicone holder, the HM23 is shockproof against drops from up to 2 metres and also fully dustproof and waterproof to IP68 standard. The headlamp offers a total of three power modes and electronics with an extended life function, gradually reducing power in the 240 and 70 lumen modes to achieve a longer light duration (see mode endurance chart).

The very respectable performance, light weight of only 43 grams and a reasonable price predestine the HM23 for a wide range of sports, leisure, work and everyday activities. It is suitable for evening trail runs, camping, hiking, fishing and hunting. It will also serve as a standby car flashlight for unplanned situations and its high durability makes it suitable as a work headlamp for tough conditions.

The Fenix HM23 headlamp is the successor to the popular Fenix HL20, Fenix HL21, HL22 and HL23 headlamps.

All flashlight parameters (luminous flux, battery life, waterproof, range and shockproof) are measured in accordance with ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009.

Use
Unscrew the battery tube cap. Insert the battery with the plus pole towards the headlamp, and the minus pole towards the cap. The headlamp is switched on and off by holding the button (approx. 0.5 seconds). Pressing the button switches the light modes in the order 4 - 70 - 240 lumens. The headlamp is always switched on in the lowest mode. Accidental switching on of the headlamp when transporting in luggage is easily prevented by loosening the battery cap by approximately a quarter turn.

Caution
Do not disassemble the sealed parts yourself, this will violate the warranty.
Remove the battery from the flashlight if you will not be using it for an extended period of time or if it is dead. Otherwise, especially disposable batteries can drain and damage the headlamp.
If the headlamp flashes, does not switch to higher modes or does not light up, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
The batteries are almost dead - replace them.
The battery tube cap is loose, tighten it.
The electrical contacts are dirty - clean them with a cotton ball dipped in alcohol.
