Certified according to EN.166f, the glasses must withstand the impact of a 22 mm diameter, 43 g steel ball dropped from a height of 1.3 m and impacting at a speed of 18 km/h. The unbroken lens shall remain firmly seated in the frame of the spectacles and the frame shall remain intact.
ANSI HIGH MASS IMPACT TEST - Heavy Body Impact Resistance Test
Wiley X glasses are tested and certified by ANSI(American National Standards Institute) for resistance to heavy body impact (High Mass Impact Test). Glasses with this certification are subjected to the impact of a 500 g heavy projectile dropped from a height of 127 cm.
