Fuel EX 9.7 is our most affordable full-suspension carbon trail bike. We've built it on a lightweight, bump-smoothing frame with a sturdy 140mm FOX 36 fork, Shimano SLX/ XT drivetrain and efficient 4-piston brakes so you have an awesome machine right from the start that you can upgrade later.

You want just one carbon trail bike that can handle all the essentials - gradual singletrack, the toughest descents and the steepest climbs. You won't mind cutting back a bit on parts to get the best frame.

A fast bike with a lightweight carbon frame, stiff trail geometry and suspension front and rear for some serious off-road raging. It's brawny enough for tough descents, but that doesn't stop it from gently climbing hills and nimbly accelerating.

1. Don't confuse the Fuel EX 9.7 with other carbon models at a bargain price. That's because it has a unique frame and perfect suspension, plus reliable drivetrain and wheels on top.
2. You can put your puncture repair kit and other gear in the sleek and handy internal storage compartment.
3. The bigger and stiffer 36mm fork posts won't sag when you lean into it hard, so the bike will be more responsive and precise and hold the line better.
4. RE:aktiv is smarter and more efficient damping. It's stiff enough when you pedal so you can swing gracefully over terrain undulations.
5. We've expanded the size range so that there really is something for everyone. You'll get the fastest wheels to fit your frame: the XS frames have 27.5-inch wheels, the S sizes have a choice of 27.5 or 29-inch wheels, and the M to XL sizes will be fitted with 29-inch wheels.
