FENIX HL18R-T - Rechargeable headlamp

The compact Fenix HL18R-T rechargeable headlamp delivers up to 500 lumens (ANSI) of light and a range of up to 82 meters. Power is provided by a replaceable 1300 mAh lithium polymer battery that charges via a micro-USB connector directly in the headlamp.

The battery can be removed and replaced with three regular AAA batteries in an emergency (cannot be recharged in the headlamp). The light source is a modern Cree XP-G3 LED with a neutral light tint, which is located in the main reflector. For additional illumination, two white Everlight 2835 LEDs are used to create a wide and very smooth cone of light.

There are a total of 5 power modes, including an SOS flash mode for emergency situations. The headlamp is also equipped with an upgraded battery life extension feature. With prolonged use of each light mode, the headlamp gradually reduces power in small increments to achieve longer light duration. However, the power reduction is not as pronounced as the older HL18R headlamp.

The headlamp features a wide strap with the new Sport Fit System with a single rotary wheel for easy strap length adjustment. This allows you to quickly and comfortably tighten the headband on your head with one hand. The strap is also perforated and equipped with reflective elements to ensure good passive visibility when running on the road.

Weighing just 91 grams, the Fenix HL18R-T will serve well as a running headlamp as well as a headlamp for camping, hiking and other outdoor activities.

All headlamp parameters (luminous flux, battery life, waterproofing, range and shock resistance) are measured in accordance with ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009.

Use
The main headlight is switched on and off by pressing the right button for 0.5 seconds, additional LEDs are switched on and off by holding the left button. The main spotlight always switches on to 200 lumens, the auxiliary LEDs switch on to 30 lumens, and you can switch the other power levels at any time during operation by pressing the corresponding button. The main spotlight and auxiliary LEDs cannot be activated at the same time.
Using the rotary wheel to adjust the length of the head strap. To loosen the strap, pull the wheel up and loosen the strap.
Battery charge indication - After briefly pressing the left button (the headlamp must be off), the LED battery charge indicator on the bottom of the headlamp will activate. Four lit LEDs indicate that the battery is charged to more than 80%, three lit 60-80%, two lit 40-60%, one lit 20-40% and one flashing LED indicates that the battery is charged to less than 20%.
The control buttons can be locked to prevent spontaneous switching on, e.g. when transporting in luggage - hold both buttons down for 3 seconds. To unlock, hold both buttons again for 3 seconds.
Overheat protection - If the internal temperature of the headlamp exceeds 65°C, it will automatically reduce the power output.

Charging
Remove the rubber cap of the micro USB connector on the bottom of the headlamp and use the included USB cable to plug it into a computer, power bank, USB AC adapter or USB car adapter. Alternatively, any mobile phone charger with a micro USB connector can also be used for charging.
During charging, the four indicator LEDs on the underside gradually light up, after a full charge they all light up permanently.
The charging time for a fully discharged battery takes about 2.5 hours.
The battery used does not suffer from a memory effect, so the headlamp can be recharged at any time.
Thoroughly seal the USB connector cap after each charge.
The headlamp can be switched on during charging, but only in the lowest mode.

Caution
Do not disassemble the sealed parts yourself, it will violate the warranty.
Never use differently discharged AAA batteries or batteries with different capacities.
Always check carefully to make sure that you are inserting the batteries in the headlamp with the correct polarity.
If the headlamp flashes, does not switch to higher power modes or does not light up, it may be due to one of the following reasons.
